IM Lake Placid

Finally an Ironman where no mechanical issues slowed me down - very happy with my 3rd Place in my AG and 5th overall agegrouper. Swim went great - came out of the water in 20th position (better than other races where I usually place over 60th!). The chase on the bike was real challenge in a tough & hilly course in downpour rain and strong cross headwinds. The run course was a very challenging course with some solid climbing, probably the toughest marathon I've done which happened to be my fastest marathon ever in 3:09. Thanks to AM @funkymunkyhk for all the great remote swim training that seems to be paying off better than ever and to @justindaerr for such a great specific training for this race, there was no way I could've put a run like that without his tips&training. Thanks also to #sauconymx for the continuous support and to @reginavalos for being there on her 15th ironman supporting me - this time carrying, pulling and dealing with 3 kids on her own while trying to be there in every lap of the bike and run - sometimes (while racing) I wonder who's having a tougher day
